This from ABC

“Boys, move over. The lady is coming through. Danica Patrick wins the Twin Motegi,” the announcer said as she crossed the finish line.

The 26-year-old Wisconsin native took the lead in the final two laps of the 200-lap race as her mother watched and cheered in the stands. Patrick finished 5.8594 seconds ahead of pole-sitter Helio Castroneves on the 1.5-mile Twin Ring Motegi oval, after other top contenders were forced to pit for fuel in their final laps.

Grabbing the checkered flag silenced Patrick’s critics, who remembered her as the most famous race car driver without a win.

Congrats on your first Indy Car win Danica.

  1. The picture of her with the smug look on her face leaning on the trophy really put me off. Sure, she’s the first woman to win in that series, but that series is a diluted pool of it’s former self. Once again, a race was won on fuel strategy instead of driver’s ability. And you’d think she’d say a few words about the women that paved the way for her such as Janet Guthrie and Lynn St. James. I must have missed that interview. Hang on to that trophy dearly, girl, it may be alone in the case for some time.

  2. She does kinda look like she has been in the winners circle before.. LOL.. Like this is just routine..

  3. oh yeah she is hot.. :D
