Some news around the NHL

the cup Lord Stanley it the time again !!!

Well Folks those of you like myself are gearing up and getting stoked about the 07-08 hockey season to get under way. With all the trades that have happened this off season, this year looks to be quite an interesting one. But i wanna fill you in on some of the happenings that have been going down recently in the world of hockey.

1. Edmonton Oilers have lost a great forward in Pasani. Pasani will be out indefinitley this year due to some health issues. It appears he has been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, a inflammatory bowel disorder. Funny as it sounds, it is painful. Hope he recovers quickly so do the oilers after signing him to a 4 year deal.

2. Pierre Turgeon, Future Hall of Famer. Has called it quits and hangs up his skates after 19 seasons of play. This news come due to injuries he suffered last season in his calf and groin. Turgeon excited fans by phenomal numbers. He posted 515 goals and 1,327 points in 1,294 games . Peirre may be retired but i am certain he will still be in the NHL. Thanks Pierre.

3. Scott Niedermayer of the Stanley Cup Winning Ducks, met with media yesterday and said he is still uncertain of retirement. Scott was a great captain but in fairness to the Ducks he needs to hurry since camp is around the corner.

4. Lastly in efforts in gaining and growing the sport of hockey as a global threat. The NHL has made the season opener against the LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks a two day spectacle in all place, London. These games are slotted to be played on back to back days on Sept. 29 – 30.

I will be here throughout the season to provide any bits and breaking news around the NHL all season long. if you have questions or need some tips i will do my best to answer. So everyone sharpen those skates, tape up those sticks and lets put that biscuit in the basket.
