WSBK Valencia Spain

More excuses… I didn’t watch any racing AGAIN this weekend. Why? You ask. I live in Wisconsin, it’s the beginning of April and it was 70° outside.

The racing continued for the boys and their bikes in Spain. Round 3 of the World Superbike Series went off without a hitch with Ducatis leading the way again with a win by Lorenzo Lanzi in the first race and second place finishes by Troy Bayliss in both races. Bayliss now leads the points by 48 with a total of 128 amassed in 3 races.

Here’s the top 10 for the first race.

1 Lorenzo Lanzi R.G.Team Ducati 1098R
2 Troy Bayliss Ducati Xerox Team Ducati 1098R
3 Troy Corser Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team Yamaha YZF R1

5 Carlos Checa Hannspree Ten Kate Honda Honda CBR1000RR
6 Karl Muggeridge D.F Racing Honda CBR1000RR

8 Regis Laconi Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse Kawasaki ZX 10R
9 Makoto Tamada Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse Kawasaki ZX 10R

The 2nd race

3 Carlos Checa Hannspree Ten Kate Honda Honda CBR1000RR
4 Ryuichi Kiyonari Hannspree Ten Kate Honda Honda CBR1000RR
5 Troy Corser Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team Yamaha YZF R1
6 Yukio Kagayama Team Suzuki Alstare Suzuki GSX-R1000 K8
7 Ruben Xaus Sterilgarda Go Eleven Ducati 1098R
8 Max Biaggi Sterilgarda Go Eleven Ducati 1098R
9 Regis Laconi Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse Kawasaki ZX 10R
10 Fonsi Nieto Team Suzuki Alstare Suzuki GSX-R1000 K8

Haga’s 1st place finish in the second race was nice to see. This guy has been around forever, has been hurt numerous times and fell short of the title a few years back in the final round of the season. Haga is a gracious racer and fun to watch. His post race interviews are a pleasure to watch. He knows that the biggest fan base are English speaking and does his best to better his English when interviewed. His lack of arrogance is quite refreshing. Way to go Nori.
