No Sweep In Dallas…

goalllllll!!!!!!

Well the San Jose Sharks fend off the sweep last night, sending the game back to the shark tank tomorrow night. I’m no hockey expert, but both teams looked tired at times last night. If your a Stars fan, lets hope they can close out the series tomorrow night, so they can get atleast a few days rest..

And So It Begins…

Johnson

Avery Johnson and the Mavs have parted ways.. My next question is who will he be replaced by? Its to bad Larry Brown was snatched up by the Bobcats earlier this week. I’m sure Avery has to be happy about one thing, he will no longer have the owner sitting 5ft away from him behind the bench. This move comes as no surprise to anyone.. Speculations have been building for the last few weeks about his job security with the team. Ok Cuban, who is next? Josh Howard, Jet, You gonna pick up Kidd’s option?? Are you going to clip your GM? With zero help coming in the draft, whats your next move???

I wonder if Cuban is pondering his next move, while he is up in Chicago today watching the Cubs play.. Since he is still a potential buyer of the Cubs..

ron washington

Texas Rangers skipper Ron Washington finds himself on the hot seat also. With the Rangers sitting 9 games under 500 at the end of April, I look for Washington to be next in line for the firing squad!

Dave Tippett is the only safe coach at this present moment. Up 3-0 in the western conference semi finals.. Tippett has pretty much secured his spot with the Stars next season. GO STARS!!!

Just for you Richie Rich.. A picture of Tippett sporting his 70’s stash!

A Weekend In Fontana……. And Assen Too.

Oh MAN!!! I’ve been slacking soooo bad that the boss had to send me an email to kick my a** in gear. Sorry guys and gals. I promise to pull my head outa my rear.

Here we go!!!!!

The racing I didn’t see at all this weekend was the WSBK in Assen, Netherlands. I usually watch this because of the huge presence of Ducati on the podium but for some reason, it wasn’t in the cards this weekend. It looked to be a good weekend for Ducati with the top 4 qualifying spots going to the Ducati 1098’s but only 1 would finish in the top 3 for both races. Fortunately for Ducati, Troy Bayliss won both races. Nice.

Now on to Fontana California and the California Speedway for the US Superbike wars. This was some good stuff. The years past have had Suzuki mounted Mat Mladin pretty much smoking the field on his GSXR but then this guy named Ben Spies shows up and jumps on the very same bike on the same team. Matt doesn’t have it so easy any more. This is good because Mladin can be kind of an arrogant a** wipe.

Race 1 on Saturday was kind of yawner for the spectator but relatively brutal for the rider as the winds were quite strong making it difficult to ride. Suzuki’s Ben Spies spanked his team mate Mat Mladin by almost 21 seconds and 34 seconds over the third place rider Tommy Hayden. Sunday was a different story. While it looked like it was going to be a run away victory for Mat Mladin and Spies solidly in 2nd, the interest turned down track a little ways for the battle for 3rd between Suzuki’s Tommy Hayden and Honda’s Neil Hodgson which was eventually taken by Hayden. Back up front, Mladin’s cruise turned in to a battle after Spies closed the 4 second gap and challenged Mladin and his trashed tires to finally draft past him in the last couple of feet of the race by .011 seconds. That’s less than half a wheel. It was a great finish.

Finishing off the weekend in California, the only Ducati of note in AMA racing, finished 3rd in the FX series and the Supersport race was won by Yamaha mounted and Elvis wannabe, Ben Bostrom. During the 1st lap of the Supersport race, M4 Emgo Suzuki rider Martin Cardenas came into a turn way to hot and ended up taking out Suzuki factory rider Tommy Hayden, dislocating Tommy’s ankle which required surgery to repair. Cardenas was transported and later had surgery to repair a broken left femur. Video of the crash shows Cardenas trying to get the bike off the inside of the track to avoid hitting other riders. Officials are looking at a possible brake malfunction as the cause.

That’s it for this past weekends moto racing update. Keep the feet on the pegs race fans!!!!

Mavs Down 3-1 In Series…

Dallas Mavericks

The Mavs visit New Orleans tonight to *with any hope* have the final nail put in the coffin for this season. This Hornets team has pretty much had their way with the Mavs. Hell game two in the series the entire Hornets bench, coach included was laughing at the Mavs after the Hornet got up by about 20 or so. I’m a realistic Mavs fan. If they are having this much trouble in round one.. how could they expect to go on, on the off chance they were actually able to get past the Hornets.

If this is the end of the season, with any luck Cuban will make the necessary changes first thing in the morning!

*sidenote* Its to bad were not playing the Spurs..😉

The Days Of Clemens Life Episode 3…

roger

Previous Episodes

Episode One

Episode Two

Episode three opens with Roger Clemens back in the news with new allegations he and once country superstar Mindy McCready Mindy McCready had a 10 year  affair. Question, WHO CARES?? This is just the latest attempt from Brian McNamee’s camp to smear Clemens name further. If this new information is accurate.. Maybe McNamee will regain some credit after Congress ripped him apart in February.

With Roger Clemens image already on shaky ground, even if these latest allegations aren’t true, he is still going to look bad. First the steroid allegations, now extra marital affairs? Considering for years Clemens has stated numerous times *My family comes first*. Honestly nothing that comes out of this soap opera known as Roger Clemens life surprises me anymore. Another spin on this could be some exposure for Mindy McCready, since she is trying to reestablish her music career. She also has a documentary, and TV series project in the works. McCready released this statement today. The fact that she says *I can’t refute anything in this story* is probably not going to help Clemens case any.

Chances are some of these allegations could be true. The fact that Clemens met McCready when she was 15 does raise some questions. Also there is word that Clemens has given McCready money to help her out with her legal problems, which I would assume happened during her *prescription fraud* troubles. This is something that can be easily dismissed or spun by the dream team as *a friend helping a friend in need*

It’s a damn shame that a legendary career turned in by one of the top 5 pitchers to every take the mound, has been flushed in the matter of 6 months. I wonder if Clemens is rethinking his original strategy about the way he handled all of this. Perhaps going on 60 minutes, making the rounds to meet with every congress member that would see him, and just being so public with  professing his innocence was not the best way to handle this. As time goes on, and more things turn up with each turn of the stone his image is becoming more and more tarnished.

Stay tuned, there is no telling what Episode 4 will bring us in *The Days Of Clemens Life*
